A Thanksgiving night apartment fire in Kenosha has left the community grieving the loss of three young siblings. Fire crews responded to a residence on 43rd Avenue around 10:30 p.m. and found the apartment heavily engulfed in flames and smoke, according to Battalion Chief Todd Leipzig.
Authorities identified the children as 10-year-old Rylee Kannin, 9-year-old Connor Kannin, and 7-year-old Alena Kannin. Their father, who was also inside the apartment during the fire, was treated for smoke inhalation and is expected to recover. The tragedy has deeply affected neighbors, friends, and the wider community.
A fundraiser has been created to support the Kannin family during this difficult time. The page explains that the funds will help with funeral and memorial arrangements, provide immediate assistance, and offer ongoing support as the family begins the long process of rebuilding their lives.
Organizers shared that the loss of three children at once has created emotional and financial challenges no family expects to face. Community members have been encouraged to help in any way they can—whether by donating, sharing the fundraiser, or offering messages of support.
The family expressed appreciation for the compassion being shown and thanked those who have taken time to honor the lives of Rylee, Connor, and Alena. Supporters hope the family finds strength in the care being extended to them and comfort in knowing the community stands beside them.
