Early reports indicate a tragic shooting outside a Davenport business that left two men dead and another injured early Friday morning.
Davenport Police responded around 1:45 a.m. to the parking lot of Chill Vibez Lounge on Myrtle Street after receiving calls about gunfire.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound and provided immediate medical aid. He was transported to a hospital but later passed away.
Police were later notified that another man had been taken from the scene to a hospital by private vehicle. He also died from his injuries. One of the victims has been identified as Dane Howard.
A third man sustained a non-life-threatening injury and was taken to a medical facility for further evaluation.
According to preliminary findings, the incident appears to have stemmed from a physical altercation that escalated, rather than a random attack. Investigators continue to gather evidence, review surveillance footage, and interview witnesses.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Davenport Police at 563-326-6125 or provide anonymous tips through QC Crime Stoppers.
Further details, including the identities of the additional victims, will be released once next-of-kin notifications are completed.
