The Hinesville Police Department is investigating an incident that took place on the evening of November 28, 2025, in the 800 block of Bacon Road.
Officers were dispatched after reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they located 17-year-old Kymonie Matthew, who was injured and required immediate medical assistance. Emergency responders provided aid at the scene, and due to the seriousness of the injuries, Matthew was airlifted to Savannah for further treatment.
The Hinesville Police Detective Division has begun an active investigation to determine what led to the incident. Detectives are working to identify anyone who may have been involved and are reviewing possible witness accounts or nearby surveillance footage. Officials stated that no additional information is being released at this stage to protect the ongoing case.
