9-Year-Old Lila Bonner Found Deceased Following Catastrophic Flash Flooding at Camp Mystic

Another heartbreaking loss has been confirmed in the aftermath of the catastrophic flash flooding in Central Texas.

The family of 9-year-old Lila Bonner has informed Channel2 NOW that she was found deceased following the disaster that swept through Camp Mystic in Kerr County.

Lila, a rising third grader, was among the children reported missing after historic rainfall caused the Guadalupe River to overflow, devastating parts of the all-girls Christian summer camp.

She was last seen wearing her Camp Mystic T-shirt, a symbol of the place she and so many others loved dearly.

In a statement, Lila’s family requested privacy during this unimaginably painful time. They have asked the public to refrain from reaching out, especially using any previously circulated contact information from the search effort.

Lila is remembered as a bright and beloved child whose loss is deeply felt by all who knew her. As the official death toll rises to 37, authorities continue search and rescue operations in hopes of locating other missing children and staff members.

Please keep Lila, her grieving family, and every individual impacted by this tragedy in your thoughts and prayers. May we continue to hold on to hope for those still missing.
